DESIGNER - SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

The Sustainable Development Designer will implement various projects in collaboration with mining companies, in particular as part of their compliance work with the Mining Association of Canada's TSM - Towards Sustainable Mining initiative. In support of the project managers, the candidate will :

- Assessing mining companies' sustainable mining development practices ;

- Audit the environmental and social compliance of mining operations with respect to applicable standards and requirements;

- Develop tools, processes, guides, manuals and management systems to achieve set objectives;

- Support the team in integrating sustainable strategies with mining companies;

- Participate in the development of emergency response plans, the preparation of training materials and the conduct of emergency simulations.

The Sustainable Development Designer will be called upon to participate in the environmental and social aspects of sustainable mining development, i.e. :

- Tailings management, water management, climate change adaptation and biodiversity conservation&;

- Stakeholder and community relations, crisis and emergency management, health and safety and human rights.

- A technical diploma (DEC) or bachelor's degree (BAC) in science, engineering, the environment, health and safety or a related discipline;

- 0-3 years experience in mining or related field;

- Demonstrate an interest in mining initiatives and projects and want to make a difference;

- Autonomy and initiative;

- Good organizational skills, rigor and ability to work in a team;

- Good writing skills in French and English (an asset);

- Good ability to popularize the principles of sustainable development;

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

- Based at Go-Mine's Richelieu office, but can be done entirely from home;

- Possibility of having to travel to the office or mine sites, as needed and according to availability;

- Full-time, flexible hours.

Go-Mine is a Quebec engineering company founded in 2019 and based in Richelieu, working in the field of sustainable mining development. It is very active, among other things, in bringing mine sites into compliance with mining industry standards and best practices, in risk management and emergency preparedness, and in carrying out sustainable development projects. It is also involved in numerous environmental and social responsibility projects, such as tailings management, climate change adaptation and worker health and safety.
